29-year-old forbids neighbor's kid from cat-sitting after finding out how the 9-year-old treats the kitty: ‘My cat [is] being used as a baby doll’

Every cat pawrent knows the feeling - that deep, purring bond with your little fluffball who's part roommate, part therapist, and part unbothered deity. So when life demands you trust someone else to look after your whiskered wonder, you hope they'll handle your cat with the same mix of love, respect, and maybe a touch of awe. After all, caring for a cat isn't just about feeding and petting - it's about understanding their moods, their boundaries, and their royal sense of self.

Unfortunately, not everyone gets the memo - or the scratches that usually come with ignoring it. Take one cat mom's recent situation: she came home to find her neighbor's 9-year-old "cat-sitting" by treating her kitty like a baby doll. We're talking onesies, strollers, and a very unimpressed feline named Milo. To make it worse, the kid's mom thought this was all fine, calling it "practice parenting". Spoiler: Milo disagreed. Loudly. With teeth.

It's stories like these that remind us - cats deserve gentleness, not parenting roleplay. They're not toys or teaching tools - cats are family members with opinions (and claws). So here's hoping that every kitty finds caregivers who truly get them… and that this particular neighbor and her mini "mom-in-training" stay far, far away from anyone else's cat. Look, letting a kid cat sit is not the end of the world. This is something that can help the kid as an educational process. But having the kid bother the cat? (to say the least) - this is a big no-no. Even for adults.
